Prophet Ayodele advises Victor Osimhen against Chelsea move, citing career concerns

Renowned prophet and founder of the INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, Primate Elijah Ayodele, has issued a stern warning to Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen regarding a potential move to Chelsea. In a recent 44-second video posted on social media, Ayodele advised Osimhen to avoid joining the London club, predicting that it would negatively impact his career.

“I want to quickly advise as directly that Osimhen should not go to Chelsea because if he goes there, he will not shine and it will kill his career,” Ayodele stated. He further warned the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) that if Osimhen does join Chelsea, they should reconsider calling him up for the Super Eagles, emphasizing that the team has the capability to compete in major tournaments like the World Cup and Nations Cup without him.

This is not the first time Ayodele has made controversial statements about Chelsea. In 2023, he claimed that the club was cursed and needed spiritual cleansing to recover their former glory. “Chelsea are a finished club. If they are not careful, they will not function again. The people who bought Chelsea should go back to the owner and get his blessings,” Ayodele said.

He continued, “Otherwise, if they put 10, 20 strikers, defenders, and the best goalkeeper in the world, there is a curse troubling Chelsea at the moment. I have told you to take these words very seriously if you want to progress; otherwise, Chelsea can go to relegation. Any team that now faces Chelsea can beat them; they need spiritual cleansing for them to wake up to the challenge that is ahead of them.”

Osimhen, 25, has been one of Europe’s most sought-after strikers following his impressive performances with Napoli. Chelsea, alongside other top clubs like Arsenal, Paris Saint-Germain, Manchester United, and Liverpool, has shown strong interest in securing his services. However, the hefty €130 million transfer fee has been a significant obstacle, with PSG and other suitors stepping back, leaving Chelsea as the primary contender for his signature.

As the transfer window nears its end, Napoli is eager to finalize Osimhen’s move, with Chelsea still keen on adding him to their squad for the 2024/25 season. The coming weeks will be crucial in determining whether the Nigerian striker will heed Ayodele’s warning or continue his pursuit of a move to Stamford Bridge.
