Slavia Prague president reveals shocking twist in Olayinka’s transfer saga

Slavia Prague president Jaroslav Tvrdík has disclosed that Peter Olayinka’s return to the club has been derailed due to Red Star Belgrade’s sudden change of heart. Olayinka, who left Slavia Prague for Red Star Belgrade last summer, had been expected to rejoin his former club after a successful stint in Serbia.

Tvrdík expressed his disappointment and surprise at Red Star Belgrade’s decision, stating, “In my nine years of working in football, I have not experienced a situation where the selling club officially confirmed the acceptance of the offer and later withdrew from this step.” He added that Slavia Prague had already agreed on a deal with Red Star Belgrade, but the Serbian club increased their fee for Olayinka at the last minute.

Olayinka’s impressive performances for Red Star Belgrade, where he scored 12 goals and provided four assists in 43 games, had made him a prime target for Slavia Prague. However, with Red Star Belgrade’s u-turn, it seems unlikely that Olayinka will return to Slavia Prague this summer.

This shocking twist has left Olayinka’s future uncertain, with the Nigerian striker now facing an unclear path ahead. Slavia Prague, meanwhile, will have to explore alternative options to strengthen their squad.

The incident highlights the complexities and unpredictabilities of football transfers, where deals can fall through at the last minute due to various factors. The transfer window remains open and fans and clubs alike will be keeping a close eye on developments in Olayinka’s saga.
