VfB Stuttgart identify Chuba Akpom as Serhou Guirassy replacement

German Bundesliga side VfB Stuttgart are considering signing Nigerian striker Chuba Akpom from Ajax as a replacement for Serhou Guirassy, who recently joined Borussia Dortmund. Akpom, 28, joined Ajax last season but was mostly featured as a squad player, leading to his desire for more playing time.

According to German outlet Voetbal Prime, Akpom’s entourage has held talks with Stuttgart, who are looking to add another striker to their squad. Stuttgart finished second in the Bundesliga last season and offer an exciting opportunity for Akpom to play Champions League football.

Akpom’s departure from Ajax would also help the Dutch side reduce their salary budget, allowing them to sign former Manchester United striker Wout Weghorst. Stuttgart are also interested in Chelsea’s Armando Broja, but their preferred choice is currently unknown.

Akpom’s potential move to Stuttgart would be a significant development in his career, offering him the chance to play regular football in one of Europe’s top leagues. With his experience and goal-scoring ability, Akpom could be a valuable asset to Stuttgart as they look to build on last season’s success.

The Nigerian striker has already shown his quality in the Eredivisie, scoring 15 goals and providing four assists in 40 appearances for Ajax last season. If he can replicate this form in the Bundesliga, Akpom could become a key player for Stuttgart and help the team achieve their goals.

The transfer window heats up and Akpom’s future remains uncertain. However, a move to Stuttgart could be the perfect opportunity for him to take his career to the next level and establish himself as one of the top strikers in the Bundesliga.
