Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen has returned to Napoli for pre-season training and underwent medical ahead of the 2024/2025 season.
Despite actively seeking a move to the Premier League, Osimhen has not had any concrete bids for his services from rumoured admirers, Chelsea, Manchester United and Arsenal.
The 25-year-old, who played a crucial role in securing a historic Scudetto title for Napoli, expressed his desire to play in England.
As a result, he was given a new contract with a salary increase and a €130 million release clause.
However, injuries and instability at Napoli have affected Osimhen’s performance, making it difficult for the club to find a European team willing to meet his release clause.
Despite this, Saudi clubs remain interested and are capable of paying the hefty fee.
With the 2024/25 season starting next month, Osimhen has begun preseason medicals with Napoli. It is uncertain whether he will continue with the team throughout the preseason, given his intention to leave.
