Victor Osimhen’s possible transfer to Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) is looking more likely due to new developments about his release clause.

Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis is reportedly ready to offer PSG a slight discount on Osimhen’s high release clause, making the transfer more feasible.

According to Corriere dello Sport, De Laurentiis is willing to lower Osimhen’s €130 million release clause slightly to speed up the transfer. This change aims to help Napoli secure new signings for Antonio Conte’s project, including Chelsea’s Romelu Lukaku.

Osimhen’s agent, Roberto Calenda, has traveled to Paris to finalize the deal, while Napoli’s directors are working from their training camp in Castel di Sangro to reach an agreement. Once Osimhen’s move is confirmed, it will clear the way for Lukaku to join Napoli.

Osimhen has agreed to a five-year contract with PSG, valued at about €14 million net per season. This move represents a significant step for the Nigerian striker, providing him with a lucrative deal and the opportunity to regularly compete in the UEFA Champions League.

Osimhen’s departure from Napoli marks the end of a very successful time in Serie A. He led Napoli to their first Serie A title in 33 years last season, scoring 26 goals in 32 matches. During his four-year tenure with Napoli, Osimhen made 133 appearances and netted 76 goals, becoming a key player for the club.

Osimhen’s transfer to PSG will significantly boost his income. Reports from Tuttosport indicate that he will receive a €4 million wage increase at PSG, earning €14 million per season compared to his current €10 million annual wage at Napoli.

The 25-year-old’s agent, Roberto Calenda, recently traveled to Paris to finalize negotiations with PSG. Despite this progress, PSG still needs to reach a final agreement with Napoli to complete the transfer.

While Napoli is open to selling Osimhen, PSG seems hesitant to meet the €130 million release clause. Reports suggest that PSG might offer €100 million plus a player to secure Osimhen’s services. Sky Sport Italia indicates that PSG might include players like Carlos Soler, Nordi Mukiele, or Lee Kang-in as part of the transfer package to meet Napoli’s valuation.

Meanwhile, Napoli is eyeing Chelsea’s Romelu Lukaku as a potential replacement for Osimhen. The former Serie A champions are keen to offload players before strengthening Antonio Conte’s squad, and Osimhen’s sale would help pursue Lukaku.

Despite interest from Saudi Pro League club Al Ahli, Osimhen remains focused on continuing his career in Europe, with the Premier League initially being his preferred destination.
